Beginning Ballerinas: (Ages 3-4)
This class is based on a fun, well-organized atmosphere. Dancers will learn many skills to help their physical development and coordination. Using age-appropriate songs and dances, this will provide a nurturing, stimulating, yet structured classroom specifically designed for this age. The class consists of a blend of song and dance, pre-ballet and tumbling.
Intermediate 1: (Ages 5-6)
Dancers will enjoy learning basics and fundamentals in this introduction to ballet/tap combination class. This class will introduce ballet by incorporating basic terminology with the positions of the feet, hands and body. We will also introduce tap through basic tap steps with music so children can develop a sense of rhythm and learn to count music while dancing at the same time.
Intermediates 2 and 3: (Ages 7-9 and 10-12)
This is a combination class including both ballet and tap. Ballet gives dancers a solid technical base with which to learn many other forms of dance. It improves grace, coordination and confidence. Tap is a great way to improve rhythm, musicality and coordination. Dancers will practice rhythmic patterns and combinations with tap shoes. The main goal is to develop a positive attitude toward dance while building a foundation of strength, grace, and self-expression.
Teen Dance: (Ages 13-17)
This class was just added! Teen dance will combine jazz, ballet and modern techniques!
Adult Tap: (Ages 16 and up)
***We will begin offering a tap class during our second semester. Currently, you cannot register for Adult Tap.
Adult Lyrical: (Ages 16 and up)
This class will focus on teaching dancers about creative expression through movement. Lyrical dance combines jazz, ballet and modern techniques and vocabulary. We will build strength in dance technique as well as learn different dance combinations. This class promises a warm atmosphere where we can gather as women and dance it out!
NEW! Adult Ballet: (Ages 16 and up)
If you always wanted to learn to beautiful technique of ballet but never got a chance, here's a class for you. This class will be focused on ballet technique, musicality and artistry. Ballet is a highly stuctured dance form which naturally teaches poise, flexibility, and elegance. Ballet is a great technical foundation for dance. It's also a lot of fun!
NEW! Adult Fitness: (Age 18 and up)
Centering, balancing, strength-building, endurance....this is what you'll find in this one hour session of fitness class with an emphasis on Yoga. No previous dance experience is needed. This class offers a wonderful opportunity for muscle toning, getting your heart-rate up, and improving flexibility which all lead to healthier body and life.
